Blackout Poetry Competition Winner June 2024
We received over 100 entries to this Blackout Poetry Competition. Thank you to everyone who took part.
You can see the runners up and special mention poems over on our Patreon, but here is the winning entry! If you’re after even more blackout poetry, you can have a read of the previous winners starting with our last round back in January 2023.
A huge congratulations to our winning poet: Isabelle Biondi Saville
Transcript:
It will start -
A tiny sprout on
The forest floor.
Among the water,
Roots, leaves,
The first who looked at these
Saw in them a resemblance
To our own.
The human vessels –
They do not carry
But only dissolved.
The cells
In their finished form
Each of them
A tiny sprout.
