Artist Statement:

“Genre, non merci” is a scanned drawing of my nude body, as a non-binary person whose figure is perceived as otherwise. “Genre non merci” means “gender no thanks”, because to many my body appears as womanly, but to me, it is genderless. I seek to challenge our perceptions of the body and the practice of unconscious gendering.
